What is Placenta Encapsulation

You hear about it but what are the real benefits of this madness.

When you first hear of eating your placenta you think, "what? are you mad?" Honestly, depending on cultures and what approach you take, it is totally not that weird.

Eating your placenta has been something that has been done for centuries and during civilization, it was something that slowly dwindled, until recent comeback. Other mammals do it so it is part of nature. Although a lot of us have never heard of it, and if our cultures have been westernized, then its something new that we are encountering. Western medicine will tell you that there are no proven benefits of intaking your placenta, whichever way that may be. That's totally okay. Ingesting your own placenta is a great source of vitamins and nutrients, that once nourished the baby, but now are nourishing you, in your postpartum journey. During birth our hormones plummet, and we lose a lot of blood, so intaking our placenta nourishes us with Iron, B6, B12, hormones like progesterone and estrogen. Typically, by ingesting your placenta, moods are better, there is an increase of energy, milk supply boost, and sometimes even battle postpartum depression.
